The leadership advisor service supports beginning principals and tumuaki by providing targeted, timely and tailored leadership advice to enable each of them to reach their potential.
It helps principals and tumuaki who are in their first or second year in the role build confidence and capability as leaders of learning.
Since 2017, just over 800 beginning principals and tumuaki have benefited from this service. It has reached approximately 32 percent of state and state-integrated schools, supporting them to operate strategically to achieve the aspirations of their school community and make a positive difference for learners.
The leadership advisor service is delivered by Evaluation Associates on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
