We are inviting proposals to deliver professional learning and development (PLD) for the cultural capability priority by organisations with the necessary capabilities and facilitator workforce through the release today of a Request for Proposals (RFP) on the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS).

Proposals close on 12 February 2021.

We welcome proposals from both existing PLD providers and other organisations able to offer PLD facilitators with the required cultural capability competencies, for example facilitators from Iwi and hapū organisations and Māori and Pacific values-based organisations.

In an earlier RFP in September 2020 we approved an initial list of existing providers and their facilitators to deliver cultural capability PLD. We are now seeking to expand this list to meet the need for this service.

Cultural capability PLD services to teachers and kaiako in English medium settings need to embody Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Kaupapa Māori, Critical Consciousness and Inclusion and these are the PLD facilitator competencies we are seeking from candidate organisations.

Please read the RFP document on GETS for details about the process and criteria for proposals.

If you have any questions after reading the RFP, please email our National Office PLD team at pld.providers@education.govt.nz. We will publish our answers to questions received so that answers are shared with all candidates.

Check the PLD website news over the December and January holiday period for any further updates about this RFP on provision of cultural capability PLD.

On the PLD website you will also find information about how regionally allocated PLD works and the PLD priorities and their intent.
